Nothing can be made of the final words of this. I merely point out the form sanun, Chinese chiang chün (ff *), corresponding with the form in the Yenissei inscriptions, while the Orkhon inscriptions render this title by sdnün. Further, in 1. 12 the form say, presumably the same word which has this form in Qutadyu Bilig, while the inscriptions have :1114, ` clean'. In ll. 9 and 14 we have the personal name Ïnal, in the first place followed by the title tar[gan].

1. 2. n(u?)yoI(ä)k is a well-known Manichaean expression of Sogdian origin, meaning auditor ', ' hearer'. 1. 4. Ye .] d' n1 is probably a proper name.
1. 7. The word succeeding nom one would be inclined to read törü, but this interpretation does not seem possible. 11. 9—ro are very doubtful.
