Description Accounts of the second (November 1904-December 1905) and the third (December 1905-June 1907) expeditions made by German Turfan Expedition, who undertook four expeditions to Central Asia. They excavated ruins and found relics, such as murals and stucco images. In the second expedition, they visited the region of Turfan (Kara-khōja, Cave Temples of Bezeklik, Toyuk, etc.) . In the third expedition, they visited the region of Kucha (Cave Temples of Kumtura and Kizil), Korla, Kara-shahr. This book records vividly how they found and excavated those ruins, along with descriptions about lives and customes of the local people.
