From A BÂGDOÂR (Kàmäon) to MfLUM (Kämâon).

A principal route, passable for horses, though at some spots with great difficulty.

A B cIg d o â r, 30° 22'; 79° 50'; 7,518 ft., on the right bank of the Gôri river — Continue along the right bank of the Gôri river — A Sângtâri (here is a spot most difficult to be crossed for horses; great care must be taken not to injure them)—Continue (in June) across snow-bridges for 2 to 3 hours —A Mdpa, on the right bank of the Gôri river—AJelâbu (9,750 ft.).

R jlk 6 t (10,072 ft.), 6 hours' march from ABâgdoâr, under the most favourable circumstances; but it is impossible to fix a time; this depends on the season, and on the quantity of horses to be brought up here. Scanty supplies procurable in Rilkdt—Continue up the Gôri valley along its right side — Mcârtoli (10,955 ft.), near the confluence of the Gôri and Mârtoli rivers (level of the confluence 10,320 ft.)—Mâpan (10,843 ft.), 4 miles S. of Mflum—Pâchu (a beautiful view . of the Nanda Dévi peali, 25,749 ft., from here) —Cross the Gôri river on a narrow and bad bridge (horses have to swim across).

Milum, 30° 34'.6; 79° 54'•8p (11,265 ft.). This is the highest village in the Gôri valley and the most important one of Johâr.

A secondary route, passable for horses.

B cig es ar,29° 47' ; 79°45', with a bângalo(2,730ft.) on the right bank of the Sé,rju river--Continue along the right bank of the Sârj u river-3 miles from Bâgesar cross the Lahnr river-7 miles from Bâgesar cross the Kanalgârh river (bridges are over both; but as the torrents often carry them away during the rains, it should be ascertained before-hand, whether they are in good condition, the fords not being passable, when the rivers are swollen.

Ka b k d t (3,854 ft.), near the right bank of the S,rju river, 15 miles from Bâgesar—DhurâmHaZing, on the right bank of the Sérju river—Pass a narrow gorge (road occasionally very difficult for horses).

S û r i n gg (5,707 ft.), near the right bank of the Sarju river, 5 hours' march from KabktltRikhâri — Stipi (continous ascent, occasionally steep ; road rocky and bad) —A Tati, a hamlet, 31/2 hours' march from Spring (no provisions are procurable)—Cross the Dâkri pass (9,655 ft.), where a fine view of the Trisstil and Nanda Khät snow-peaks presents itself.
