Samyûng (12,146 ft.), 4 hours' march from Milum — Cross two rivers — Cross several snow bridges.

A Talla Shillong (12,813 ft.), or the lower Shillong, 3 hours' march from pSamging. Grass and shrubs still plentiful. Scarcely any fuel at next stage ; collect it here— p Mûlla Shillong (13,225 ft.), or the upper Shillong, 3/4 hour's walk from p Tilla Shillong. Just at the limit of shrubs.
