Route No. 212.

From SÛKHI (Gärhväl) to USSÎLLA (Gärhväl).

A secondary route, impassable for horses; a difficult route.

Sd khi, 30° 59'; 78° 42'; 8,401 ft., on the right bank of the Bhagirathi river— Continue along the right bank of the Bhagirathi river—Jhdla —Pural—Cross the Shingad river.

L\Encamp at the confluence of the Shingdd and Bhagirdthi rivers (an easy march) — Continue throughout the next march along the left bank of the Shingad river —Q Bhaini—Q Khadar— Cross a small nalah Q Durainghattu —Q Chemahara—Q Mondral — Cross the Bhallara river —Q Tangua Bhallnra — Cross the Tangua nàlah — Cross two other small nalahs.

  • Bari (11,911 ft.) —Cross a nâlah, close to

Q Bakri— Cross another nalah—Q KiarktittiCross four small nalahs, among which is situated Q Gântral— Q Do Hamdo (13,211 ft.), at the foot of the Q Do Hamdo glacier, 3 hours' march from Q Bakri.

  • R d t hi, at the foot of the Rathi glacier; fuel very scarce— Ascend the Rathi glacier — Cross the Damdar, or Hat ka Zaüra pass (17,479 ft.), 6 hours' march from Q Rathi — Descend this pass along the Tons glacier.

the Tons glacier, still considerably above its lower end—Descend the Tons glacier—QKadukapri — Q Kondara—Foot of the Tons glacier (source of the Tons river)—Cross a nalahRissar lake (11,787 ft.), in the Tons valley.

Encamp below the lake on the right bank of the Tons river—Continue along

the right bank of the Tons river — Cross the Tons river by a bridge—Cross two small nalahs — Cross the Tons river by a bridge.

Ussilla, or Oshdl, 31° 7'.G; 78° 18'.2 r; 8,940 ft., on the right bank of the Tons river.

From SULTÂNPUR (Kiilu) to JÂGATSÛK (Knlu).

A principal route, passable for horses.
