From the VANGTU BRIDGE (Simla) to DANKBAR, or DRANKHAR (Spiti).

A secondary route, passable for horses.

Vdngtu bridge, 31° 37'; 77° 54'a, at the confluence of the Satlej and Vangar rivers (level of the bridge 4,932 ft.) — Cross the S,tlej river by a bridge — Continue along the right side of the Vangar valley—Higindhar hill (the highest point of the road) —1 tore — Cross the Vangar river by a bridge.

Grccmang, on the left bank of the Vangar river, in the district of Bhabéh (an easy stage) — Continue along the left side of the Vangar valley —Ranamgaff—Cross the Julingrangpani

  • Yângpa (the highest village of the Vangar valley)—Yebtigarh, an old ruined fort—pHOmti

  • Cross the Gerentrang and several smaller rivers.

Ngiamsantdng (an easy stag) — pVastishilng—Lanagôdi, a pool—Leave the Vangrang and continue up the It, gti river—p Pdkshia.

A Kû s t e r a ng, at the southern foot of the Tari, or Bhabéh pass (an easy stage) — Cross the Tari, or Bhabéh pass (15,942 ft.) — Cross several small rivers.

A Tib e l Mai d d n (12,845 ft.), at the northern foot of the Tari, or Bhabéh pass—Shdbangtsu, a small summer village—Padotsring, ditto.

Mû d (12,421 ft.), on the left bank of the Pin river (an easy march)—Ilélhe gaff (a very small village) —PMolumtar — Cross the Kiangti chu

river—Tiling (12,275 ft.); on the right bank of the Pin river — Khar — Cross the Pin river Silngnam—Cross the Para chu river—Mikhin —Continue along the left bank of the Pin-river — Cross' the Killing river.
