British Executive Officer and soldier in India. , Forseyth in 1870 was dispatched to Xinjiang for the purpose of studying Turkestan and Yakub Beg which became an independent area in Xinjiang. His studies led to the knowledge that there was no clear border drawn for the governed territory of Yakub Beg, and three years later he published his "Report of a Mission to Yarkund in 1873 (Royal Geographical Society)." This report contains descriptions of many burried remains and relics (such as Buddhist images of the 10th century) which were photographed by his team. | |
