Owner of the Nihon-do bookstore in Shanghai. The Nihon-do bookstore was located at 155 Hong-kou-wen Street, in Shanghai. Sugieedited and published"New Shanghai (1918)" and "Shanghai Guide Book (1924)," as well as publishing many maps, such as "Detailed traffic map of Jiangsu and Zhejiang (1938)" and "The Great Shanghai Newest Survey Map (1941)". These guide books and maps published by Sugie are important as some of the few remaining basic reference material about the Shanghai area from the early 20th century. | |
