I agree with Charignon (Ch, III, 100) that we have here 婺州 Wu-chou, the name of Chin-
hua-fu from T'ang times down to the Ming. But in his itinerary Polo must have left Chin-hua
to the east, and the exact place he refers to seems to be 蘭溪 Lan-ch'i, more to the west, a hsien
which belonged to Wu-chou territory and was on the postal road from Hang-chou to the south-west.
