merueilles qui y sont escriptes. . ."
Ending: ". . . et si est appelle en mesnie
marc pol son liure de la diuision du monde
et des merueilles diceluy."
Of the 266 histoires or miniatures in this
splendid book, 84 belong to the story of
Marco Polo, and 84 to Odoric, or 168 in all
of them. Its value is estimated in the cata-
logue of the Library of the Duc de Berry
in 1416 (quoted by Panthier) at 125 livres,
i.e. about £500. (See Vol. I., Ibis.,
84 Paintings of MS.)
