الدين الحُسيني من كبار الصالحين ومنهم وكيل بيت المال
المدرس بقُبَّة الامام الشافعي مجد الدين بن حرى ومنهم
الحتسب بمصر نجم الدين السهرتي من كبار الفقهآء ولد بمصر
رياسة عظيمة وجاةً،
ذكر يوم الكمل بمصر وهو يوم دوران الجمل يوم مشهود
وكيفية ترتيبهم فيه انه بركب قضاة الاربعة ووكيل
بيت المال والحتسب وقد ذكرنا جميعهم وبركب معهم
اعلام الفقهآء، وأمنآء الرُوسآء، وارياب الدولة ويقصدون جميعا
باب القلعة دار الملك الناصر فيخرج البهمر الجمل على جمل

pouvoir et un rang élevé.
RÉCIT DE LA FÊTE DU MAHMIL AU CAIRE.
C'est le jour où l'on promène le mahmil (boîte de forme
conique, couverte d'ornements et d'inscriptions, et qui ren-
ferme le drap destiné à recouvrir le temple de la Mecque), ce
qui attire un grand concours d'assistants. Voici la manière
dont ils le célèbrent: les quatre kâdhis suprêmes, l'intendant
du fisc et le lieutenant de police, officiers que nous avons déjà
tous mentionnés, montent à cheval, accompagnés des plus
savants jurisconsultes, des syndics des chefs de corporation
et des grands de l'empire. Ils se rendent tous ensemble à la
porte du château, où réside Almélic annâcir. On fait sortir
à leur rencontre le mahmil, porté sur un chameau, et pré-
