التقيه مخلص وسائر وجوه اهلها فيختمون القرآن ويذكرون

وسافرت من اخميم الى مدينة هو مدينة كبيرة بساحـل
النيل وضبطلها بضم الهاء نزلت منها بمـدرسة تقي الدين
ابن السرّاج ورأيتهم يقرأون بها في كل يوم بعد صلاة الصبح
حزبا من القرآن ثم يقرأون اوراد الشيخ ابي الحسن الشاذلي
وحزب البحر وبهذه المدينة السيّد الشريف ابو محمد عبد
الله الحسنى من كبار الصالحين ،
كرامة له دخلت الى هذا الشريف متبركا برؤيته والسلام
عليه فسألني عن قصدي فاخبرته اني اريد حج البيت الحرام على
طريق جدّة فقال لي لا يحصل لك هذا في هذا الوقت فارجع

Je me rendis d'Ikhmîm à Hou (Diospolis parva), grande
ville située sur le rivage du Nil. J'y logeai dans la medreceh
de Taky eddin, fils d'Asserrâdj. Je vis que les étudiants y
lisent chaque jour, après la prière du matin, une section
du Coran; puis on lit les prières du cheikh Abou'lhaçan
achchâdhily et ses litanies de la mer. On trouve à Hou le
noble seyid Abou Mohammed Abd Allah Alhaçany, qui est
au nombre des hommes les plus pieux.
MIRACLE DE CE SEYID.
J'entrai chez ce chérif, regardant comme une bénédiction
de le voir et de le saluer. Il m'interrogea touchant mes pro-
jets; et je lui appris que je voulais faire le pèlerinage de la
mosquée sainte, par le chemin de Djouddah. Il me dit: « Cela
ne t'arrivera pas quant à présent. Retourne donc sur tes pas;
