وكان يعتمر في كل يوم من التنعـم ويعتمـر في رمضان مرّتين في
اليوم إعتمادا على ما في الخبر عن النبيّ صلّى الله عليـه وسلّـم
تسليما انّه قال قُرَّة في رمضان تعدل حجّة معي ومنهـم الشيخ
الصالح العابد شمس الدين محمّد الحلبي كثير الطوان والتلاوة
من قُدَمَاء المجاورين مات بمكّة شرّفها الله ومنهم الصالح ابو
بكر الشيرازيّ المعروف بالصامت كثير الطوان أمام بمكّة اعواما لا
يتكلّم فيها ومنهم الصالح خضر الجميّ كثيـر الصوم والتلاوة
والطوان ومنهم الشيخ الصالح برهان الديـن الجمي الواعـظ
كان بُنِّصَب له كرسي تجاه الكعبة الشريفة بعض الناس ويذكرهم
était auparavant kâdhi dans la haute Égypte; mais il se dé-
voua entièrement au culte de Dieu, et alla demeurer près
du noble sanctuaire. Il visitait tous les jours les saints lieux,
à partir du Tan'îm, et pendant le mois de ramadhân, deux
fois par jour. Car il avait confiance dans cette parole que la
tradition attribue au Prophète : « La visite des saints lieux,
dans le ramadhân, équivaut à un pèlerinage fait avec moi. »
3° Le vertueux et pieux cheïkh, Chems eddin Moham-
med, d'Alep. Il faisait de nombreuses processions, lisait
beaucoup le Coran, et était un des plus anciens modjâouirs
à la Mecque, où il mourut.
4° Le pieux Abou Becr de Chirâz, connu par le surnom
de Silencieux. Il multipliait ses tournées, et il resta à la
Mecque plusieurs années sans jamais parler.
5° Le pieux Khidhr al'adjémy. Il jeûnait beaucoup, fai-
sait assidûment la lecture du Coran et les processions autour
de la ca'bah.
6° Le cheïkh probe, Borhân eddin Al'adjémy, le pré-
dicateur. On avait placé pour lui une chaire en face de la
