فرحون رحمه الله وابنآوُه الآن بالمدينة الشريفة ابو محمد
عبد الله مدرس المالكية ونايب للحكم وابو عبد الله محمد
واصلهم من مدينة تونس ولهم بها حسب واصالة وتولى
للخطابة والقضاء بالمدينة الشريفة بعد ذلك جمال الدين
الاسيوطى من اهل مصر وكان قبل ذلك قاضيا بحصن آلكرك ،
ذكر خُدّام المجيد الشريف والمؤذنين به وخدّام هاذا
المجيد الشريف وسَدَنَته فتيان من الاحابيش وسواهم وهم
على هيآت حسان وصُوَر نظان، وملابس ظران، وكبيرهم
يعرف بشيخ الخدّام وهو في هيئة الامرآء الكبار ولهم المرتبات
بديار مصر والشام وتُوزَّع المبهم بها في كل سنة ورئيس
المؤذنين بالحرم الشريف الامام الحدث الفاضل جمال الدين
Abou Abd Allah Mohammed, fils de Farhoùn, dont les fils,
maintenant présents dans la noble Médine, sont: Abou Mo-
hammed Abd Allah, professeur des mâlikites et substitut du
juge, et Abou Abd Allah Mohammed. Ils sont originaires de
la ville de Tunis, où ils jouissent d'une grande considéra-
tion et d'une noble parenté. Dans la suite, le prédicateur
le juge de Médine fut Djemâl eddin d'Ociouth, l'Égyptien.
Antérieurement il était kâdhi dans le château d'Alcarac.
DES DESSERVANTS DE LA NOBLE MOSQUÉE, ET DE SES MOUEDDHINS.
Les serviteurs de cette noble mosquée, et ses gardiens
sont des eunuques abyssins, ou autres; ils ont une belle
figure, un extérieur recherché et des vêtements élégants.
Leur chef est nommé le cheikh des serviteurs, et il a l'appa-
rence extérieure des grands émirs. Ils ont une solde prove-
nant de l'Égypte et de la Syrie, qu'on leur paye tous les ans
(à Médine). Le chef des moueddhins, dans le noble temple,
est l'imâm traditionnaire, le vertueux Djémâl eddin Alma-
