ثمَّ استحضر القاضى المذكور فقال اخبرنى ممن كان يرى رأى
هولاء الذين قُتلوا ويفعل مثل افعالـهـم فاملى اسماء رجال
كثمرين من كبار البلد فلـمَّا غرنى ما امـلاه على السلطان
قال هذا يحبُّ ان يُخَرِّب البلدَ اضربوا عنقه فضربت عنقـه
رحمه الله تعالى
ذكر قتله للشيخ الحيدرىّ وكان الشيخ علىّ الحيدرىّ ساكنًا
بمدينة كنباية من ساحل الهند وهو عظم الغدر شهم
الذكر بعيد الصيت ينذر له التجار بالبحر النذور الكثمرة
واذا قدموا بدَّوُا بالسلام عليه وكان يكاشف باحوالـهـم وربَّما
نذر احدهم النذر وندم عليه فاذا اتى الشيخَ للسلام عليه
cela le juge susmentionné, et lui dit : « Fais-moi connaître
ceux qui (dans Cowil) pensent comme les individus qui
viennent d'être exécutés, et agissent comme ils l'ont fait. »
Le kâdhi dicta les noms d'un grand nombre de personnes,
parmi les grands du pays. Lorsque le monarque vit cela,
il dit : « Cet homme désire la destruction de la ville. » (Et,
s'adressant à ses satellites, il ajouta) : « Coupez-lui le cou. »
Ils le lui coupèrent. Que Dieu ait pitié de lui!
DE LA CONDAMNATION À MORT DU CHEÏKH ALHAÏDARY
PAR LE SULTAN.
Le cheïkh'Aly alhaïdary habitait la ville de Cambaie, sur
le littoral de l'Inde; c'était un homme d'un grand mérite,
d'une réputation immense, et il était célèbre dans les pays,
même les plus éloignés. Les négociants qui voyageaient sur
mer lui vouaient de nombreuses offrandes, et à leur arrivée,
ils s'empressaient d'aller saluer ce cheïkh, qui savait décou-
vrir leurs secrets, et leur disait la bonne aventure. Il ar-
rivait souvent que l'un d'eux lui avait promis une offrande
