مِن الحَوادث ما فيه الكفايـة فلنعدُ الى ما يخصّنـا من ذلك
ونذكر كيفيّةً وصولنا اوّلا الى حضرته وتنقُّلَ لحال الى خروجنا
عن الخدمة ثمّ خروجنا عن السلطان في الرسالة الى الصين
وعَوْدنا منها الى بلادنا ان شآء الله تعالى ،
ذكر وصولنا الى دار السلطان عند قدومنا وهو غائب
ولمّا دخلنا حضرة دهلى قصدنا باب السلطان ودخلنا الباب
الاوّل ثمّ الثاني ثمّ الثالث ووجدنا عليه النقبآء وقد تقدّم
ذكرهم فلمّا وصلنا اليهم تقدّم بنا نقيبهم الى مشور عظيم
متّسع فوجدنا به الوزير خواجة جهان بنتظرنا فتقدّم صنآء
الدين خذاوند زادة ثمّ تلاه اخوه قوام الدين ثمّ اخوها

Nous raconterons donc, d'abord, notre arrivée à Dihly, les
vicissitudes de notre situation, jusqu'au moment où nous
quittâmes le service du souverain; nous dirons ensuite comme
quoi nous nous séparâmes du sultan, pour aller, comme son
ambassadeur, en Chine, et enfin, nous ferons mention du
retour dans notre patrie, s'il plaît à l'Être suprême.
DE NOTRE ENTRÉE DANS LE PALAIS DU SULTAN, LORSQUE NOUS
ARRIVÂMES À DIHLY, PENDANT L'ABSENCE DU SOUVERAIN.
À notre arrivée dans la capitale, nous nous rendîmes à la
demeure du sultan et entrâmes par la première porte, puis
par la deuxième et la troisième. Ici nous trouvâmes les na-
kibs ou officiers, dont nous avons déjà parlé. Quand ils nous
virent, leur chef nous précéda dans une salle d'audience
magnifique et très-vaste, où nous trouvâmes le vizir Khodjah
Djihân, qui nous attendait. Le premier de nous qui entra
fut Dhiyà eddin Khodhâouend Zâdeh, que suivirent d'abord
