الجمني وانا اعور البصري فتحك الامير ولخاصرون وخجل القاضي

اشدّ التعظيم وكان بهذه المدينة من الصالحين الحاجّ ناصر من
اهل ديار بكر وسكناه بقبّة من قباب الجامع دخلنا اليه واكلنا
من طعامه واتّفق له لما دخل القاضي جلال مدينة كنباية
حين خلافه انّه اتاه وذُكِّر للسلطان انّه دعا له فهرب لئلّا
يُقتَل ما قُتل لهيدري وكان بها ايضاً من الصالحين التاجر
خواجة اسحق وله زاوية يطعم فيها الوارد والصادر وينفق على
الفقراء والمساكين وماله على هذا ينمى كثرة وسافرنا
من هذه المدينة الى بلدة كاوي وهي على خور فيه المدّ والجزر

neur et les assistants se mirent à rire et le juge fut honteux.
Il ne put répliquer à son interlocuteur, car dans l'Inde les
chérifs sont extrêmement considérés.
Parmi les gens de bien de cette ville (Cambaie), se trouvait le
pèlerin Nâssir, originaire du Diârbecr et qui habitait un des
pavillons de la mosquée principale. Nous le visitâmes et par-
tageâmes son repas. Il lui arriva de venir trouver le kâdhi
Djélâl, lorsque celui-ci, à l'époque de sa rébellion, entra
dans la ville de Kinbâyah. On rapporta au sultan qu'il avait
prié en faveur du rebelle. Il s'enfuit, de peur d'être mis à mort
comme Alhaidéry. Un autre homme de bien, habitant Kin-
bâyah, est le marchand Khodjah Ishak, qui possède un
ermitage où l'on sert à manger à tout venant. Il dépense
beaucoup en faveur des fakirs et des indigents, et malgré
cela, sa richesse croît et augmente.
De Kinbâyah nous nous rendîmes à la ville de Càouy
(Goa), située sur un golfe, où l'on éprouve le flux et le
