ولما دخل السلطان مترة وجد امّه وامراته وولده مرضى
بأيام للمدينة ثلاثة ايام ثمّ خرج الى نهر على فرسخ منها كانت
عليه كنيسة لكلفار وخرجتُ البه في يوم خميس فامر بإنزالى
الى جانب القاضى فلما ضُربت لى الاخبية رايتُ الناس
يسرعون ويجوج بعضهم في بعض فمن قائل انّ السلطان مات
ومن قائل انّ ولده هو المّت ثمّ تحققنا ذلك فكان الولد هو
المّت ولم يكن له سواه فكان موته ممّا زاد في مرضه وفي
الخميس بعده توفيت امّ السلطان ،
ذكر ولاة السلطان وولاية ابن اخيه وانصرافى عنه وفي
الخميس الثالث توفي السلطان غياث الدين وشعرتُ بذلك
Lorsque Ghiyâth eddîn entra dans Moutrah, il trouva sa
mère, sa femme et son fils en proie à la maladie. Il resta
dans la ville durant trois jours, puis il se transporta près
d'un fleuve situé à une parasange de distance, et sur la rive
duquel il y a un temple appartenant aux infidèles. J'allai
le trouver un jeudi, et il ordonna de me loger près du
kâdhi. Quand des tentes eurent été dressées pour moi, je vis
des gens qui se hâtaient et dont les uns se poussaient sur
les autres; l'un disait, « Le sultan est mort; » l'autre assu-
rait que c'était son fils qui avait succombé. Nous recher-
châmes la vérité, et nous connûmes que le fils était mort.
Le sultan n'avait pas d'autre fils; aussi ce trépas fut une
des causes qui augmentèrent la maladie dont il était at-
teint. Le jeudi suivant la mère du souverain mourut.
