mung unmöglich durchzuführen gewesen ist, trotz gütigst ausgeführter Bestimmungsversuche
seitens Herrn Professor L. CAYEUX in Paris.
Vom Himalaya kennt man aus früheren Untersuchungen eine weit verbreitete Eruptiv-
formation von sowohl granitischen als auch ultrabasischen und zwischenliegenden Magmen.
Diese wird nunmehr von der Geologischen Landesanstalt Indiens als späteocän angenommen,
und da die im Brahmaputratal, Transhimalaya und Tibet auftretende Eruptivformation petro-
graphisch identisch mit der des Himalaya ist, gleichwie sie auch geologisch mit dieser zusammen-
hängt, so habe ich mich betreffs des Alters der genannten Eruptivformation auf die Autorität
