Camp XVII, July 31st 1900.
A nameless region in N. E. Tibet, at the sides of the little river Pitelik-darya directed to the effluence from Kum-köl and continuing its course to the salt lake Ayag-kum-köl. The ground is nearly barren and very desolate.

A nameless valley in Northern Tibet. Gravelly, desolate region.

Camp XXXIII, Aug. 24th 1900.
A nameless place at the western shore of a nameless salt-lake in the interior of Eastern Tibet. The region is desolate. The ground consists of fine dust with nearly no gravel.

Nameless region at the western shore of a nameless lake in Eastern Tibet. Desolate tract with very sparse vegetation.

Nameless valley in the interior of Eastern Tibet. The country desolate, nearly barren.

Nameless valley in the interior of Eastern Tibet. Very barren; poor vegetation.

The plants from this region were collected by one of my Cossaks who dated the etiquettes. During my absence Camp XLIV was twice moved very short distances to give better grazing to the caravan animals. The coordinates may therefore be regarded as signifying the whole region in question. At any rate the difference is so insignificant that it does not play any part regarding the places where the different plants were found.
