The specimens are very young, hence the identification is not quite sure.
*Geogr. area*: Hungary (Heviz lake). Mediterranean region (scattered), subtropical and tropical Asia and Australia.

*Scirpus affinis* Roth, Nov. Sp. (1821) 31; Meinshausen, in Acta Horti Petrop. XVIII (1900) 251.
East-*Turkestan*, Lop-nor, Kara-koshun, beneath Yust-chapghan, 816 m., 24th June 1900 (flowering).
This plant seems me so different from *S. maritimus* L. that it must be considered a good species (see also my list of Cyperaceae from Lieutn. Olufsen's second Pamir Exp., in Bot. Tids., Bd. 28 [1907] 20).
