India & his relation of the We-
stern Countries, the first source
of this map.
A short comparison between the three
roads from China to India: 1) via the
Chu-ling & the Iron Gate (Hsüan-
chuang's route 629-644); 2) across
the Southern Sea until Kalinga
& Tāmralipti (I-ching's route 671-
695); 3) through Tibet, the Wo-
men's Kingdom, Nepāl etc.
A note that,
on account

names,
were un-
