river (road very bad and difficult; the river must
be crossed, during certain periods of the year,
more than 20 times)—△ Pállak (15,027 ft.).

△ Murgái (15,448 ft.)—Ascend along the water-
course of the Kissiláb (the river must be re-
peatedly crossed)—Pass a large spring (16,382 ft.)
—△ Bárze.

△ Chóngil Dáne Akse (15,869 ft.)—Ascend
the water-course of the Kissiláb, which must
be crossed and re-crossed repeatedly—Ascend
to the Dápsang plateau (17,500 ft.), the highest
in the world as yet known—Cross the Sháyók
river (here extremely small)—△ Chajósh Chúlga.
Dáulat Beg Úlde (16,597 ft.), at the south-
western foot of the Karakorúm pass.

B.
△ Sássar to the Karakorúm pass.
Winter Route.

Impassable in summer on account of the
swollen state of the Sháyók river, up which this
route leads.
