Sátlej valley.

Encamp at the south-western foot of
the Cháko La pass (16,197 ft.).

(Gnári Khórsum).
A secondary route, passable for horses.

Téling, 31° 27′; 79° 32′, near the left bank of
the Sátlej river (level of the river 12,369 ft.)—
Cross the Sátlej river by a bridge (in Sept. and
Oct. it is even fordable)—△ Sángdar—△ Sárka
Súmdo—Tibung—Bé (13,417 ft.).
Kióm—Cross the Bóko La pass ¹ (ab. 18,450 ft.).
△ Túgdo. From here to Gártok the road is
almost level—△ Shíngu—△ Kanghé—Cross the
Indus river (fordable).
Gártok, 31° 40′·0; 80° 18′·4⊞; 15,090 ft., near
the right bank of the Indus river.
