From SHÎGAR (Bâlti) to NIGAR (Gilgit).
A secondary route, passable for horses, but only with difficulty.

Shigar, 35° 28'.6; 75° 451.5 rr; 7,537 ft., on the left bank of the Shigar river — At Hal-pipa cross the Shigar river on inflated skins to Gnâli—Continue along the right bank of the Shigar river—Brando—Vazfrpur—Chorft.
Yti ski l—Gâbstot — Gônstot— Gâijo—Chtzmik Hariskit (road up to Chutrôn now very bad)Chutr6n (8,060 ft.).

From SHÎMPTI (Kämäon) to A BAGDOÂR (Klimäon).
A principal route, passable for horses, though there are some spots extremely difficult.

Sh imp ti, 30° 5'; 80° 1'; 5,953 ft., 1 mile W. of the Gôri river, the chief place of the district of Munshâri. Provisions must be bought for the two next stages, none being procurable at the halting places. Do not hire Jhûbus (beasts of burden) ;. for at more than one spot they must be unloaded, which involves loss of time. Inquire about the state of the snow-bridges; the more still existing, the better —Dharkdt, on the right bank of the Gôri river — Ditmar — Cross the Suringér and Jemikât rivers, affluents of the Gôri river to its right (breakfast best taken on the banks of the Jemikât river).
Mdlju (6,480 ft.), 7 hours' march from Shfinpti. A fatiguing stage, as riding is almost impossible throughout. — Road branches off to the village of Sil—p Bruskâni—Cross the Hartôl, or Lipnki Than pass (8,996 ft.). Early in May or late in autumn, this pass may be avoided byfollowing the course of the Gôri river.
A Bagdodr, 30° 22'; 79° 50'; 7,518 ft., on the right bank of the Gôri river, 8 hours' march from Mâlju; riding difficult; the greater part of the road to be walked. Extensive snow-bridges in the environs of p Bägdoâr, which generally disappear towards the end of June.
