cette belle personne¹. » Son pendant, derrière l'épaule droite du
Buddha, est Vajrapâṇi, tantôt à tête de Silène (fig. »08 c) et tantôt
d'Éros (Calcutta, nº G. 3a). Plus symétrique, le nº 534 de Lahore
(A. M. I., pl. 96) encadre le Buddha entre deux Vajrapâṇis de l'un
et l'autre type. Sur le même bas-relief, le troisième personnage
supplémentaire avance du côté droit une tête qui porte quelques
rares indications de cheveux et, par suite, appartient à un fidèle
laïque, mais d'un genre si bizarre qu'on croirait un moine manqué.
