| A German architect who researched ancient architecture through China from 1906 to 1909. After returning to Germany, he published his photos and observations in a volume of books. He made a field investigation of almost all of China and took many photographs of palaces, religious facilities such as the Buddhist temple and Taoist temple and houses. Therefore, the books have been important as an observations on ancient Chinese architecture. | |
