WEI-TSANG-T'U-CHIH.   91

One gets the impression that the author of this map has not known of nor believed in the maps drawn by order of the great Manchu emperors.

The same view regarding Klaproth 's source of the Tsangpo was communicated already a few years earlierI and then taken from an article in the Magasin Asiatique. Only the latter half of the statement is correct, for Langchen-kabab is situated at the southern side of the valley.
