With an overview of Central Asia, the narrative recounts Stein’s expedition over the Hindu Kush, the Pamirs and the Kun Lun Mountains, as well as his visit to Niya, Endeare, Miran, and Loulan. It also recounts the team’s expeditions to the westernmost remains of the Great Wall and the Mogao Caves at Dunhuang, as well as over the Qilian (or Southern) Mountains and the Tian Shan Range.
