I;
A LIST OF FLOWERING PLANTS FROM INNER ASIA.
39
I. var. frigidum Beauverd, 1. c. 249.
Western Tibet, »ad nives circ. 4600 m. altitudinis, ad merid. fluv. Tsangpo (30° N., 83° I 5' E. Greenw., leg. Sven Hedin, 1906)«.
This plant is not amongst the material which I have at my disposal, and I quote BEAU VERD'S words with regard to the locality.
var. debile Beauverd, 1. c. 2 50.
S. E. Pamir, Kara-su valley in Taghdumbash-Pamir, 4315 m. 8th Aug. 1895 (flowering).
BEAU VERD'S habitat (»Thibetus occid., Kara-su») is wrong. Probably he thought that all place-names given in Hedin's collection were Tibetan.
var. Hedinianum Beauverd, 1. c. 251.
Eastern Pamir, the Ieft side-moraine of the Korumde glacier, 4367 m., 27 th July 1894 (flowering).
Also with regard to this variety BEAUVERD'S locality is not correct (»Thibetus occid., ad nives supra Korumde«).
var. pusillum Beauverd, 1. c. 252.
Eastern or Inner Tibet, Camp E = Camp LXV (2 5 th Aug.) , 5074 m., 15th Aug. I 90 I (flowering).
BEAUVERD'S locality (»Thibetus occid., ad nives supra Sammon, i 5 th Aug. 1906«) is not correct.
Beside these varieties HEMSLEY and PEARSON (1. c.) record L.. alfinum from Northern Tibet, Sarik-kol, 3469 m., 5th Aug. 1896, and Camp XV1I, 5073 m., Ist Sept. 1896 (according to notes by Dr. HEDIN).
Geo.r. area (of L. alj5inum) : Alps of Europe, Siberia, Pamir, Tibet, Himalaya, China.
Inula salsoloides (Turcz.) Ostf. nov. comb. ; Inula ammo fthila Bunge, ex D. C. Prodr. V (1836) 470, et 3, salsoloides ibid.; I. Schugnanica C. Winkl., in Act. Hort. Petropol. XI (1890) 276; Conyza salsoloides Turcz., in Bull. Soc. Nat. Mosc. V (1832) 197; (?) Iphiona radiata Benth., in Henders. and Hume, Lahore, 323.
East-Turkestan, Karaunelik-köl, a lake at the right (southern) side of Lower Tarim, 88o m., 20th May 1900 (flowering).
Geogr. area: Turkestan to Kansu and Mongolia, Wakhan (in Pamir).

Ergänzungsband 28 (1900) 374 ; Hemsley, in Journ. Linn. Soc. 35 (1902) 182 ; Keissler, in Ann. Naturh. Hofmuseum (1907) 27 ; Danguy, in Bull. Mus. d'hist. nat.
