C. H. OSTENFELD AND OVE PAULSEN.

Draba f Ïadnrzensrs Wulf., in Jacq. Misc. I (17 7 8) 147; Hook. f., Fl. Brit. India I (I 8 7 5) 143; Hemsley, in Journ. Linn. Soc. 35 (190 2) 166; Fedtschenko, in Acta Hort. Petrop. XXVIII (1909) 463.

var. heterotricha (Lindbl.) Hook. f., 1. c.

Eastern Pamir, marsh near Little Kara-kul, 3720 m., 15th July 1894 (with unripe pods). (Pl. VIII, Fig. 3).

Eastern or Inner Tibet, Near Camp XLIV, 5127 m., 15th Aug. 1901 (with ripe and unripe pods). (Pl. VIII, Fig. 2).

There are only one specimen present from each of the two localities, and they are very much alike and like specimens in the Copenhagen Herb. from Himalaya, coll. by HOOKER fil. There is therefore no doubt that the plant is the same as that named as above in HOOKER f. 's Flora, but it is rather doubtful if the name is correct. The High Asiatic plant is different from all what I have seen of D. fZaa'nizensis Wulff. (incl. D. Wahlenbergii Hartm.) from Arctic countries and from the European Alps. In some respects it approaches D. subcaj5itata Simm., in others it comes near to very dwarf and condensed forms of D. ru1estris R. Br., but it does not agree with any of the three here mentioned species-aggregates and ought perhaps have a separate name. As my material is rather scanty I leave that for the future, and confine myself to give a photo of both specimens (PI. VIII, Figs. 2-3).

Geogr. area: (of D. fladnizensis) : widely distributed in all Arctic regions, further

found on the high mountains of Europe and Asia (perhaps also North America).

Draba laslophylla Royle, Ill. Him. Bot. I (j8 3 9) 71; Hook. f., Fl. Brit. Ind. I (187 5) 143; Hemsley, in Journ. Linn. Soc. 35 (1902) 166; Stewart, in Bull. Torrey Bot. Club (1916) 634.

S. W. Tibet, Height above the source of Tsangpo, northern foot of Himalaya, 5015 m., 13 th July 1907 (flowering).

I have identified the specimens with D. lasiofhylla Royle, but I think that both this and D tibetica Hook. f. et Thorns. are to be included in D. Magellanica Lam., when the latter is taken in wider sense as done by Mrs. E. EKMAN (Zur Kenntn. der nordischen Hochgebirgs-Drabae, in K. Svenska Vet. Akad. Handl. 57, no. 3, I 9 17).

Geogr. area (of D. lasiophylla) : Alpine Himalaya, Tibet, Mongolia.

Fructus ellipticus, compressus, dehiscens, stylo brevi incrassato apiculatus; valve carinate; dissipimentum angustum; semina numerosa, cotyledonibus incumbentibus (semina notorrhiza).
