South Western Tibet, Height above the source of Tsangpo, the northern foot of Himalaya, 5015 m., 13 th July 1907 (flowering begun).
The material is rather scanty and the identification is not quite sure as there are several allied species of the sect. Bracteatæ (cfr. SCHNEIDER, 1. c).
Geogr. area: Himalaya, Tibet; (of L. Semenovii): Thian-shan, Alai Mountains, Pamir.

The species is near to I. compacta Maxim. I. grandi, flora Bur. et Franch. and
I. Bonvaloti Bur. et Franch., but seems distinct enough to be kept specifically separate. Geogr. area: Tibet.
