Eastern Pamir, shore of Little Kara-kul, 3720 m., medio July 1894 (flowering) ; ibid. in the water or on marshy soil (a dwarfish form with narrow linear leaves).
Geogr. area: Known only from Pamir. KEISSLER'S record from Tibet is doubtful.
Polygonum peregrrnatoris O. Pauls. nov. sp. (Pl. II, Fig. 4).
Sect. Aconogonum. P. ut videtur perenne, parte inferiori indivisa in speciminibus nostris (17-20 cm. longis) verticali 5-7 cm. longa 2 -3 mm. crassa ochreis aphyllis vestita, parte superiori iteratim dichotoma, caule cylindrico sub nodis vel ubique hirtopubescenti vel glabrescente. Folia brevissime petiolata circiter 2 cm. longa I cm. lata ovato-elliptica margine undulata revoluta nervis lateralibus 7-9 jugatis, pagina superiori rugulosa strigosa-hirta, pagina inferiori densius strigoso-pubescenti, ochreis 8-1 I mm. longis brunneis antice fissis mox laceris, 7-nervatis, nervis hirsutis et parce setosis, margine apice parce setoso. Inflorescentia paniculata partibus spiciformibus composita usque ad 3 cm. longa, axi strigoso. Florum alborum diametrum 3,5 mm., perigonium 2,5 mm. longum 5-partitum, lobis obtusis tubum plus quam duplo excedentibus, staminibus 8 filamentis subulatis, ovario triangulari e latere viso elliptico, stylis 3 brevibus stigmatibus capitatis.
Ex affinitate P. polystackyi Wall., optime differt omnibus partibus multo minoribus, planta non frutescente, inflorescentia parva etc. A P. torluoso Don differt caule non tortuoso, foliorum forma et serratura, etc.

The latter is doubtful. It has been submersed, has 25 cm. long curved stems, leaves which are lanceolate and not hastate, and flowers in bud only..
