Northern Tibet, Camp I, Kara-muran valley, Kwen-lun, 407 5 m., 7th Aug. 1896 (det. Hemsley and Pearson); Camp VI, Köl, 3004 m., 9th July 1900 (flowering); on the shore of Kum-köl, Camp XVI, 3882 m., 28th July 190o (flowering), »very common all over the Tibetan highlands (Hedin).

The two first belong to the ordinary suffrutex-type, but the woody stems of the third seem to have been buried, the aërial shoots are sitting closely together on the top of them, and dead ones are found between the green; the leaves are obovatelanceolate, obtuse, more gray and less ferrugineous as ordinarily. As Kum-köl means »Sand-lake« the plants may have been covered by sand, of which, however, there were no traces.
