From DEOPREÂG (Gärhväl) to TIRI (Gärhväl).

A secondary route, frequently taken by fakirs,
passable for horses.

Deoprecig, 30° 8'; 78° 35'; 2,266 ft., at the confluence of the Alaknânda and Bhagirâthi rivers (level of the confluence 1,953 ft.) — Cross the Bhagirâ thi river — Mnndi— Séra — NigarGoshâen.

From DERA (Gärhväl) to MÂSSLRI (Gärhväl).

A principal route, passable for horses. Road made and in excellent condition.

Déra, 30° 18'.9; 78° 1'.0 6; hôtel 2,240 ft. Rdjpur—Gradual, but continous ascent, either by the old, somewhat shorter road, or by the new one (constructed- by Mr. M°Innon); the latter is excellent.

From DERA (Gärhväl) to TÎKAR (Gärhväl).

A principal route, passable for horses.

Pklval, 11 miles from Déra—Cross the Suârna nadi and several other streams — Sahinspur (1,754 ft., on the right bank of the Asan nadi) —Cross ten nalahs (in summer mostly dry).

Raj Ghat (1,516 ft.), at the confluence of the Geri and the Jamna rivers (9 miles from Sahinspur)—Cross the Jamna river by ferry — Cross the Bâlta river.

Mdj ra, 9 miles from Raj Ghat; the crossing of the river occupies a great deal of time.

Kûlar, an easy march, 9 miles from MâjraAscend the Kellar pass—Descend a narrow valley—Steep ascent for 4 miles.

N a h d n , bângalo (3,207 ft.), 13 miles from Kolar (from Nahân to Simla kûlis ask exorbitant prizes, 6 anas a day at the very least)—Descent—Cross the Ban6gta river — Lohâldi — Banéti, 8 miles from Nahân; bângalo in a most wretched condition —Nehâng—Bohtir—Descent— Cross the Gägômbar river (in summer generally dry) Ascent. (road then continues along the crest)Bunâr—Kâun.

Sdrd, or Pôkr•i, with an inferior bângalo (road very good all the way ; from Banéti toSâra,1Omiles) —Road continues along the crest, and is very good all the way—Pâgur—Kâlen—Naina.
