another aspect of the mountains south of the lake. To the W. N. W., we have the perspective of the mountains surrounding the basin of Shemen-Iso. At about N. 3o° W., are the ridges and ramifications to which the group, »N. 3° E.» on the previous panorama, belongs. To the N. N. E. and N. E. are the mountains bounding the extensive arena plain, and continuing to the east and E. S. E. To the S. E., is the prolongation of the latitudinal valley and the direction of our march to Camp CCCXXI V, To the S. S. E., south and S. S. W., are the mountains which belong to the system south of Shemen-Iso.
