Buddha. La figure 304 ne le met pas en scène moins de trois
fois. A droite il se prépare à égorger une femme, apparemment
sa « centième », d'autres disent sa « millième » victime : la tradition
populaire, docilement répétée par les textes, voulait même que
ce fût sa mère(1). Déjà il la tient par une mèche de sa longue che-
velure flottante en même temps qu'il lui appuie sur la hanche son
